"PRAJNA COUNSELLING CENTRE” is a Women & Child centered service organization, solely managed by women. It is a  registered, secular, non-profit, development organization, started in 1987. Prajna is based in Mangalore, beautiful city in South India.  It is a public charitable trust registered under trust act.


“PRAJNA” - a richly symbolic word – denotes ‘awakened consciousness ‘or’ enlightened awareness'. Prajna Counselling Centre, therefore, aims at self-awareness and holistic development of the individual.

Its primary aim is to provide counselling and supportive services to individuals and families in distress, also to offer various preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative service for the needy, deprived and under privileged.

Our Focus

The area of focus is women & children in distress and under difficult circumstances,  destitute and abandoned children, child labours and street children, alcoholics and drug addicts, mentally and physically challenged, HIV/AIDS infected and affected, slum dwellers and people living in low income community areas.
